In addition to being an artist, Tom is a horseman.  He has trained pole-benders, barrel racers, cutters, and reiners.  Tom is the founding director of the Mari Hulman George School of Equine Studies.

Tom's love affair with horses is apparent and many of his works contain images of horses, whether colorful and abstract or traditional and realistic.  Several of the paintings that you see on this page are commissioned horse portraits done by Tom.
